Wk 3 - Accept Personal Feelings as Valuable Information

Hello Reader,

Accept Personal Feelings as Valuable Information

As a leader, it's important to recognize and manage your emotions. It is equally important to accept your personal feelings as information without judgment or rejection. Acknowledge your emotions without allowing them to control your actions or decisions.

Here's an action plan to help you accept your personal feelings as information:

  1. Recognize your emotions: Pay attention to how you're feeling throughout the day and identify the emotions that you're experiencing. You can also use a journal to record and reflect on your feelings.
  2. Identify the source of your emotions: Once you've identified them, try to identify their source. Is there something specific that's causing you to feel this way? Understanding the source of your emotions can help you manage them more effectively.
  3. Label your emotions: This can help you quickly recognize them in the future. For example, if you're feeling anxious, label it as "anxiety."
  4. Accept your emotions: Don't try to push them away or ignore them. Instead, acknowledge them as a natural part of being human.
  5. Use your emotions as information: Ask yourself what your emotions are trying to tell you. Are you feeling anxious because you're overwhelmed with work? Are you feeling angry because someone has crossed a boundary? Using your emotions as information will help you make better decisions and take appropriate action.

By accepting your personal feelings as information without judgment or rejection, you'll become more emotionally intelligent and better equipped to lead your team. You'll be able to recognize and manage your emotions more effectively, which will help you communicate more clearly, build stronger relationships, and make better decisions.

The Leadership Accountability Audit

Hi Reader, Most leaders say they value accountability. Few actually enforce it. The cracks always start small: Double standards. Unspoken expectations. Avoided conversations. Then, mediocrity sets in, rebranded as "the way we do things." If you're not holding yourself and others to clear, enforced standards, you're not leading. You're managing dysfunction and enabling drift. Leadership drift doesn’t make headlines. It just quietly undermines your credibility. A single missed expectation...

Hi Reader, I’m sharing something raw, urgent, and intentionally imperfect. Navigating Chaos: A Manifesto for Principled Defiance and a Call to Lead Better. This isn’t just another leadership book; it’s a doctrine for those fed up with weak leadership, moral compromise, and systems that reward mediocrity. It’s for executives, managers, business owners, organizers, and professionals who refuse to become jerks to get ahead. The world doesn’t need more performative outrage; it needs leaders who:...
